Bender over
While doing some research for my upcoming draft blog I stumbled upon this golden nugget.
If it wasn't obvious from my Betty White calendar, I'll just tell you, I love Betty White.
You should watch Hot In Cleveland if you aren't already.

Music Monday
As I've already established here on Nonsense, I'm a purist.
So as you can imagine, I didn't like it when American Idol lost Paula. I hated Kara and Ellen didn't do much for me as a judge either. When Simon left, I was convinced they would never recover. And I adimately refused to watch once they announced J.Lo as one of the new judges.
Well, curiousity got the best of me about two weeks in, on a snowy night, and I watched and much to my surprise the new judges didn't suck. J.Lo has some of the same carisma as Paula, chair dancin' like nobody's business, and Steven Tyler is the semi-pervy horndog that show was missing! So, I took up watching once the talent got widdled down to the final 13 or 12.
I have a couple favorites, Paul McDonald being one of them. He's voice is different and he's got this incredibly infectious smile. I went on iTunes to listen to his cover of "Tracks of My Tears" and saw on the comments section that he is actually part of a band called The Grand Magnolias. After previewing the albums I'm in love. I now hope he doesn't win so he can stay in the band and keep making this music.
Here's Grand Magnolias "American Dreams." Enjoy.

Pigs don't fly for a reason
And that reason is?
If they did, bacon and sausage would taste disgusting.
For nearly half a decade I've been convinced that turkey bacon tastes good. I don't know what kind of turkey bacon I had when I thought it tasted good, but I can say, without doubt, that I was wrong.
From time to time I've substituted ground turkey for ground beef in recipes like tacos or spaghetti meat sauce and it's tasted pretty good. So, a few weeks ago I thought I'd give turkey sausage breakfast links a try. Uhhh, barf. I couldn't even eat two links doused in mustard it was so gross. I had to throw the rest away.
This morning when I went grocery shopping, I wanted bacon, but in an attempt to be healthier, I picked up some Jeannie O turkey bacon. Umm...first of all, it doesn't fry crispy like real bacon at all and it tastes like really bad fried light bologna. And to top that off, they consider one slice a serving. If it even tasted a little bit like real bacon that would be a problem, because nobody can eat just one slice of real bacon. Ugh, but this crap, no problem. I only "fried" up like 6 slices and the rest went back in the fridge. I'm going to see if I can pawn the rest off on some schmuck at work.
So in summation, turkeys can't intimidate pigs, long live real artery clogging bacon!

If someone told me to haul ass, it'd take me two trips
I think I'm going to be a big fan of Kirstie Alley this season on Dancing With The Stars. I hope she stays on for a long time so I get more golden nuggets like this one.

Music Monday
It was a gorgeous day outside today. I've got some turkey cheddar brawts on the grill and this song matches that happy feeling that a hot spring day brings.

Grown up alert
The last two weekends have been spent drinking copious amounts of libation with different groups of friends to ring in my 29th year of life. Early and mid-twenties Erin would have woke up from those nights covered in mysterious battle wounds like these.
But alas, nothing. This leaves me to believe one of the following has happen...
• I've grown up.
• I've become more graceful in my old age.
• My friends have become better spotters of potential danger zones.
• The massive earthquake in Japan shifted the Earth's axis just enough to cause an equalizing of my equilibrium.
Anything is possible folks. Anything.
